Hi friends! Rick here today, and I’m so excited to be on the Miss Ink Stamps blog sharing a colorful, sparkly card that’s packed with a little sci-fi fun. If you love playful cards that feel unique but are still manageable in an afternoon, today’s project is for you!

Creating a Forgiving and Fun Galaxy Background
One of my favorite things about crafting galaxy backgrounds is that they’re incredibly forgiving. When I first started making them, I worried about getting everything “just right” — but honestly, the more layers and splatters you add, the better it looks! For today’s card, I used Distress Oxide inks to build up my galaxy, then spritzed with shimmer and white splatter to create that dreamy starry effect.
Pro Tip: When you're working on galaxy backgrounds, let yourself layer colors that might not seem like they go together at first — the unexpected mixes often turn out the most magical once you add your splatters!

Meet the Star of the Show: Beep Boop Bot Stencil
Once my galaxy was set aside to dry, it was time for the real star of the card: the Beep Boop Bot Stencil – LIMITED EDITION. I wanted my robot to have a bright, cheerful look, so instead of traditional silver or blue tones, I stenciled with shades of orange and gray. I even added a little embossing paste to highlight the eye, which gives the bot a bit of fun texture that really pops off the background.
Fussy cutting around the bot made it easy to layer it onto the finished galaxy panel with some foam tape for extra dimension. I love how the bright colors stand out against the deep galaxy colors!
Finishing Touches with Space Fighters and Sentiments
To pull the whole theme together, I added a few little spacecraft using the Space Fighters Mini Dies – LIMITED EDITION. A little bit of ink blending on the die cuts gave them some personality without taking too much time.
For the sentiment, I reached for the Everyday Sentiments Stamp Set. I kept it simple by stamping "Greetings" and "Birthday Wishes" onto white cardstock strips and layering them onto the card front. Clean, easy, and it lets the background and the bot really shine.

Final Thoughts
This card came together so easily and was such a blast to make! Whether you're new to galaxy backgrounds or just looking for a fresh way to use your stencils and dies, I hope this inspires you to play around and create something a little different today.
Thanks so much for spending a little time with me today — I’ll see you again soon with more crafty inspiration!
