Hi, crafty friends! Lauren Taylor Made here, and I’m so excited to share my latest card project on the Miss Ink Stamps blog! I’m sharing a card today inspired by a story of moonlight, mystery, and transformation. For this scene, I wanted the night sky to be the star — filled with depth, light, and a touch of enchantment.

I began by cutting a piece of kraft cardstock to A2 size and stenciling it lightly with the Bone Chevron stencil using Tea Dye and Hickory Smoke Distress Inks. Then I turned to the Night Sky stencil set and started building my blended background. I began with soft gray and blue tones for the moon, then added deeper shades of blue outward from the center, letting the lighter areas stay soft and diffused. This layering creates that dreamy halo effect that makes the moon feel like it’s glowing on its own.

Once the sky was complete, I die cut the castle using the A2 Castle Scene Die. My character, from the Fantastic stamp set, was colored in brown tones to match the moody night sky. I adhered everything with a mix of liquid glue and foam tape for a little extra dimension.
This project is one of my favorites from the Magic Collection because the blending process feels so atmospheric — every layer of ink adds more life to the story you’re creating.
