Hi friends! Rick here today on the Miss Ink Stamps blog, and I’m excited to share a Halloween project that’s the perfect mix of playful and spooky. When I sat down to make this card, I knew I wanted something that would make the recipient smile, but still capture that classic Halloween vibe. The Boo Sheets Stamp Set, Halloween Heart Stencil, and EIEIO Frame Die Set worked together beautifully to bring that idea to life.

Building a Bold Background
I started with the Halloween Heart Stencil because it immediately sets the tone. Stenciling white pigment ink onto dark cardstock gave the skeleton hands such a dramatic effect, and once I blended colors over the open heart, it glowed like it was lit from within. Pro tip: make sure pigment ink is completely dry before adding any blending on top—this avoids smudges and keeps your colors crisp.

Bringing the Ghosts to Life
Of course, no Halloween card is complete without a few friendly ghosts. The Boo Sheets Stamp Set has such fun little images to work with, and I love how easy it is to give each ghost its own personality. Adding accessories like the balloon, pumpkin, or sucker made them feel like they were ready for a night of trick-or-treating. For me, details like that make the whole design more interactive and memorable.

Assembling the Design
The stitched rectangle from the EIEIO Frame Die Set framed the design perfectly and gave the panel a finished look. Foam adhesive added just the right amount of dimension, and a few final details—like a surprise ghost on the inside of the card and some pearl accents—pulled it all together. It’s a reminder that those finishing touches don’t take long, but they really elevate your handmade cards.

Final Thoughts
I love how this card turned out, and I think it strikes a great balance between spooky and sweet. The stencil gives bold impact, while the ghosts keep things lighthearted and fun. If you’re looking for a way to add a little glow to your Halloween crafting, this combination of products is a great place to start.
