Step Up Your Cardmaking with Brenda - Slimline Card

Hello, fellow stampers!! Welcome back for another installment of Step Up Your Cardmaking with Brenda!! Another way to step-up your cardmaking is by making it a slimline card. It gives you so much more area to work in, which really comes in handy when creating a scene!!

Let's get started!!

I began by stamping the images from Alice and Smokin' Caterpillars with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink onto white cardstock, coloring them with Copics and fussy cutting them out. I used the following colors on my images:

Mushrooms, foliage, rocks: R39, R35, R32, R29, V09, V17, V15, V12, E99, E97, YR24, Y08, Y02, B34, YG17, YG25, YG23, BG18, BG15, BG13, B24, B21, N07, N05, N03, N01, N00

Cheshire Cat: RV63, RV19, RV14, RV13, V06, V05, V01

Alice: B26, B24, B23, B21, E11, E02, E00, R20, E99, YR24, Y08, Y02, N07, N05, N03, N02, N01, N00

Next, I went to work on my background. I die-cut two slimline panels using Trinity Stamps slimline dies, the larger from white cardstock and the smaller one from Bristol smooth cardstock. I ink blended a galaxy background onto the Bristol panel using Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron, Mustard Seed, Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks. I created stars by splattering on diluted Perfects Pearls and white gouache with a paint brush. I also blended Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron onto another panel of Bristol and die-cut it with the smaller slimline die. I hand cut a curve at the top.

The sentiment, from In the Dark, was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and clear heat embossed, then die-cut with a stitched circle die. I added Antique Linen and Pumice Stone Distress Oxide Inks to create some dimension on the moon.

All that was left to do was to adhere everything together!

Here's a close up...

Thank you so much for spending a bit of time with me today!! Have a great day and I'll see you next month!!
