Faith, Trust, and Churro Dust Birthday Card

Hi, crafty friends! Lauren Taylor Made here, and I’m so excited to share my latest card project on the Miss Ink Stamps blog! Today I am sharing a card made with the Churrific Stamp Set and the Magic Star Stencil, inspired by a patterned paper with a cute magical mouse design in peach and orange tones. I used that paper to guide my color palette and blended Dried Marigold and Saltwater Taffy over the Magic Star Stencil on white cardstock for a soft and warm toned background. The churros were stamped with black ink and colored with OLO markers before I restamped the images in Pinecone Versafine Clair to give them a bold outline that matched their warm tones.

To build the card front, I created a set of layered panels using the EIEIO and Punny Frame die sets. I added one more layer of pink patterned paper from the same collection to tie everything together. A sentiment banner was die cut twice for extra stability and then stamped with Pinecone ink. I curved the sentiment on my acrylic block so that it would follow the shape of the banner. From there, I arranged the churro images around the sentiment and added thin foam adhesive behind them to give the card some dimension.

For the finishing touch, I added splatters of Liquid Stardust to mimic the sparkle of churro dust and adhered the panel to an A2 top folding card base. Inside the card, I stamped a birthday sentiment from the same set to complete the design. This card is simple to assemble but full of fun details with its warm colors, sweet treats, and a little bit of fandom magic. I hope it inspires you to create something deliciously cute today.
