Alice in Halloween Land

Alice in Halloween Land

Hello there, Christine here.  Happy November!  I know that Halloween is over, but I had an idea for a card that I just had to make. I wish that the idea had arrived a little bit earlier, but sometimes one can just not force creativity. I created a A2 trifold card where Alice has found herself encountering Trick or Treaters by using the Alice and the Boo Crew stamp sets along with the Knock Knock stencil.

I first used the Knock Knock stencil to ink blend a keyhole on the front of one A2 card base that opens to the right.  I cut out the keyhole with a craft knife so that I'll be able to used it on another project, while creating a window for my ghosts to peep through.

I then stamped the graveyard scene from the Boo Crew stamp set in Momento ink in Tuxedo Black on the front panel of another A2 card base in which the card opens to the left.  I then ink blended several distress oxide inks over the stamped image: I started with scattered straw, then dusty concord and around that chipped sapphire and went back and forth between colors until I liked how the sky looked.  Then I made the grass a super dark green color: distress oxide ink forest moss.  Distress oxide inks are very forgiving and you can just keep blending until you get the look you want.

I stamped and die cut the mouse and bunny from the Boo Crew stamp set, and kept the copic coloring very simple (W0 and W3 for the ghosts), C5 for the cat bag and Dark Pumpkin pie Stampin Up marker for the basket.

I adhered the 2 card bases together- one opens to the right, the other to the left, so that when you completely open the card it looks like this:

I kept the front of the card simple.  I ink blended some distress oxide ink in shaded lilac around the keyhole and then brushed some glitter paste (Cosmic Creations) around the shaded area.  I stamped Alice from the Alice stamp set directly onto the card panel and colored her with copic markers (YR21, Y21 for the hair, B63 & B60 for the rest of her outfit).  As a final touch I added a few ghost embellishments (Trinity Stamps).

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!
