Beautiful Destinations

Hi there, Christine here.  Today I'm sharing a slimline card using the beautiful slimline background stamp Beautiful Destination. You might think it is not very versatile and only for slimline, but you can easily create 2 different A2 or 4 bar scenic cards by splitting the entire image in half or even more different scenes by just using part of the stamp like I have today.  Also, the image itself can be interpreted in different ways- I have the large winding area as path today, but am working on another project in which it is a river (other DT have interpreted it this way as well).

I fussy cut the mountains away from my image today and decided I wanted a blue sky with clouds in it. I die cut light blue cardstock I had in stash with a slimline die (Trinity Stamps). I kept it subtle by using the Scene Builder stencil with some Hero Arts white unicorn pigment ink- which essentially sits on top of the paper it is inked on and lightens whatever color is right underneath it.

I had also die cut the Beautiful Destination image with the same slimline die (Trinity Stamps). I decided to add the pumpkin house from the Pumpkin Spice Gnomes stamp set.  I kept the coloring simple: the pumpkin house was colored with YR68 and YR15, trees/bushes/grass were colored with G29, G24, G43, G46, G94, G85 & YG63, the chimney was colored with C5 & C3.  The steps, door and mushrooms were colored with light and dark crumbcake from Stampin Up.  The paths were colored with E34, E31 and E37.

I hope that this card will inspire you to get different uses out of your slimline background stamps!  Thank you so much for stopping by!
