Curiouser & Curiouser with Davina

Hello my inky fingered friends. Davina here on the blog. Today I’m sharing an Alice themed card that I created using the incredible Alice Collection from Miss Ink Stamps and some simple, loose,  water coloring.

I stamped my images from Smokin Caterpillars and Alice, onto bristle smooth cardstock, and heat embossed the images with fine gold embossing powders. I didn’t break out any fancy watercolor palettes, but simply used some colored ink stamp pads on my glass surface, and a water brush. Watercoloring using this technique gives a very soft layer of color that doesn’t require a lot of experience to achieve good results. It’s also nice to use our collections of colored inks more often.

Once my images were dry, I carefully fussy cut them out. I’m always cautious using the old Scan N Cut with embossed stamping. I’ve damaged so many in the past that I’m scared to try it again.

I inkblended a bold saturated purple sky and deep green grassy layer to build my scene upon. You know me, I had to splatter with white and gold ink. I added my images upon the scene along with a small embossed banner in the upper corner. I’m still considering adding some iridescent sequins, but for now I’ll call her finished.

Thank you for stopping by,

Davina
