Hello Friends! Emily here (@popsofpaper) and today I’m sharing a fun slimline Valentine Shaker Card. Did you know we now have embellishments in the shop!! Make sure you take a look because there are some really different items to add to your cards and papercraft projects.
For today’s card and envelope, I used the Adorable Say Cheese! Stamp Set and Ribbits Embellishments, Limited Edition Flamingo Dazzle Dust for the pink sparkle hearts and for the envelope I used the Mouse Flower Stencil.
Creating the Shaker:
To create the slimline shaker, I used dies from Trinity Stamps and their SlimLine Die Series. To create the shake card, I die cut my slimline layer pieces. On two of the square frame openings, I added clear acetate to the back of the frames. For the purple background, I ink-blended Wilted Violet & Wilted Lavender to a white card stock panel and stitched square die-cut. Then I created a foam tape “moat” around each of the square windows with double-layered mounting tape to keep the embellishments in place. Then I added the cute little Ribbits to the foam tape moats; removed the foam tape backing and attached the purple ink blended background panel.
Creating the Critters:
For the cute critters, I stamped, heat embossed with clear embossing powder and colored the mouse and frog friend and lily pads with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers (Cool Gray-099, Blue Gray-092, Fog Gray-904, Light Violet-081, May Green-047, Green-040, Turquoise Green-042).
Creating the Glitter Hearts
To create the glitter heart embellishments, I first die cut several size hearts. I created a glitter paste by adding the Special Edition Flamingo Dazzle Dust with Glossy Accents. Then I added the paste with a palette knife to the hearts.
Completing the Card
To finish the card, I adhered all the panel layers together. Adhered the cute little mouse and frog friend to the card and added the Glitter Dazzle Hearts with glue dots. For the final touch, I created three different Love-Themed white embossed sentiment strips using Everyday Sentiments and the cutest pun from the Say Cheese! stamp set. The last step is to shake, shake the card and make sure it brings a smile to your face!
The Matching Envelope
This size slimline card fits perfectly in a #10 Business Envelope. I masked the address and return address with an oval die cut, placed the Mouse Flower stencil over the masks and used my blending buddy brushes to add Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Ink to the envelope.
So there we are friends, a cute shaker card for a special Valentine using the Miss Ink Stamps Embellishments and Say Cheese Stamp Set. I hope you enjoyed this card and it inspires you to take out that foam tape, cute embellishments and make a fun shaker card that makes you smile and maybe a little hop and giggle.
Big Paper Hugs!
