Hello Friends! Hope you are having a great week! I’m excited to be here with you today sharing a trio of cute little note cards using the Springtime Banners Stamp Set. I love creating little cards, they’re so cute to hold and go perfect in lunch bags, attached to flower bouquets and little trinket boxes. I’m adding these lovelies to my daughter’s lunch box when she goes to summer camp for a little daily encouragement and hug.
My inspiration for the three cards were the cute little critter bugs in the Springtime Banner set and my new Spectrum noir Tri-Blend markers. I created three hearts and floral pattern designs for the ladybug, bumble bee and butterfly in Citrus, Purple and Blue Turquoise.
The cards are 3.5 x 3.5 in size and I used a layered heart die from my stash as the background and stamping base. After die cutting the hearts, I stamped the small floral and bug images with Memento Tuxedo Ink. I colored “outside the lines” of the stamped images with all three colors in the Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Markers.
For the banners, I stamped the banner images and then added sentiments from the Decaf Background Stamp Set into each banner. I was so excited that the sentiments fit perfectly in the banner images! Then I added some color to the banners to match each the pattern hearts. The banners were adhered to the hearts with small foam adhesive squares. I love how the banners look like they are perfectly wrapped around the hearts.
I really wanted to use my black/white washi tape at the bottom of each card but against the black card stock it was too faded and I really wanted the extra pop of “color”. I also couldn’t find any patterned paper in my stash that looked right. So I improvised and added washi to white card stock strips and then cut the washi to size around the strip. It worked beautifully and thought I would share this little trick/tip with the photo steps below.
So there we are friends. Three cute little note cards using the Springtime Banner and Decaf Background stamp sets. I hope you enjoy and it inspires you to break from the standard A2 and create a few little note cards with all those little cute stamps.
Big Paper Hugs!
