Mixing It Up-Gel Printing Plate

Mixing It Up-Gel Printing Plate

Welcome back!  This month I'm going to be playing with a Gel Printing Plate and using the awesome new stencils in the shop!  For today I used some Distress Inks to watercolor a panel!

I started with a round gel plate and swiped on a few colors of Distress Inks that I knew would blend well when they ran together.  Here it looks like there is hardly any ink on it, but....

I sprayed some water over it (mine is infused with some Ink On 3 Liquid Pixie Dust 'cause... sparkle!)  I laid a panel of watercolor paper over the top and pressed it in and then removed the panel and set it aside to dry.

While I waited for it to dry, I stamped and/or cut all of my pieces.  I used Color Fuse Inks for the sentiment from the Unbirthday Stamp Set... first stamping the green, cleaning it off; then stamping the blue; cleaning it off and finally the purple... making sure I had some overlap between each.  I fussy cut it out and added some popup foam to it.  I cut the panel and heart at the same time to create a window by securing both on a panel of white and running them through the die cut machine together.

I cut two panels of cardstock 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 and 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 and layered them together.  I added foam tape to the back of the heart panel.

When the water colored panel was dry, I used the NEW Latte Love stencil to add some texture paste to it.  Finally when that was dry, I layered all of my pieces together and added a few sequins!

Have you checked out the new stencils yet?  And we're having a giveaway over on Instagram!  Just head on over there and find us @MissInkStamps to see how you could win all 8 new stencils!  Including this one!  (My fave don't ya know).

Thanks so much for stopping and hope you'll come again soon for more Miss Ink Stamps inspiration!
