Hello there! I'm back with some Mid Century Modern Art Inspiration with the Artsy Abstracts Stencil Set!
I was inspired by these pictures for this one:
The shapes from the first and the colors and idea of a landscape feel from the second are what inspired me about these pics.
I started with a white panel and started with darker to lighter blues for my ocean, brown for my land and then of course yellow for the sun. I used pixie tape to mask the openings around the one I was using so as not to accidentally get stray marks on my panel. I added some wavy stripes with a stencil and some of the accents from the Artsy Abstracts stencil set.
Then I stamped some images in black from the Hippo Hooray stamp set. I let my stamped images and stencil markings stray outside the boundaries of the stenciled areas like so much of the Mid Mod art I found do.
And finally another sentiment from Sunshine and Rainbows! I may just use that one all month too. but maybe not tomorrow... wait 'til you see what I've got for you tomorrow!
And here are the colors I used... I really do love this color palette!
