Running in Place Card

Running in Place Card

CBK May17-1

Hi everyone, Christine here.  I'm here with a slimline card using the Queen of Hearts stamp set. I have used this stamp set quite a lot, but had not used my favorite sentiment from this set yet.  It is "My dear, here we must run as fast as we can, just to stay in place. And if you wish to go anywhere you must run twice as fast."

It has a special place in my heart because in college I encountered the "Red Queen hypothesis" in evolutionary biology that is based on this exact sentiment.  The premise is that an evolving species must continue to evolve at a continuous rate to keep pace with a competitor.  Enough biology though, let's switch gears and get to the card!

I first die cut a scalloped panel from Neenah 110 lb solar white cardstock and Lawn Fawn speckled pink cardstock with the Trinity Stamps Slimline Card Series Scalloped Panels & Banners die set and then die cut the cardstock panels using the windows die from the Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Panels & Windows die.

I die cut and copic colored the queen, rabbits and flowers from the Queen of Hearts stamp set primarily with R22, R35 and R46.  I truly love this combination in conjunction with a white gel pen for highlights for the queen. I adhered everything into place and added some Roses are Red embellishments as a final touch.
