Sending a latte love

Sending a latte love

Hello and Happy New Year! This is my first DT blog post for Miss Ink Stamps, and I'm here to share a Valentine card I created.

I started out with some backgrounds I created by ink smooshing with oxide inks and water. If you're not familiar with that technique, it's super easy: on washable work surface, like a glass mat or mixed media mat, press your ink pad directly to the surface (or drop of reinker), spritzed with water, and then tap your cardstock into the ink until you reach desired look. I used strathmore mixed media paper for this card.

Using the Latte Love stencil, I added gold foil by using some deco foil transfer gel duo, let dry, and then ran thru my die cut machine. I sanded lightly around the edges to create a distressed look.

For the rest of the card, I used the following stamp sets: Punny Farm Goats for the little envelope, Just be-caws for the little mug, Say Cheese for the little owl, and Big Mugs for the Sending a latte love your way.

I stamped the sentiment, die cut it out with a circle die. Then I stamped the mug and masked it with masking paper, then stamped the envelope. After removing the masking paper, I colored both with colored pencils. The owl was stamped on a separate piece of cardstock, colored with pencils and fussy cut out to glue onto the mug.

The card is ready to assemble: glue foiled background to A2 card base, wrap twine around the front and tie in a bow. Using pop dots, attach circle images and sentiment to card. Using some items from my stash, I added some embellishments to make it a little extra special, but really... it was pretty cute without it all, too.

Do you have your Valentine cards ready?

Thanks for stopping by!

Vanessa
