Sending hugs and kisses with Davina

Hello crafty friends! Davina here on the blog with a cherry and bright Valentine. I couldn’t resist using these fun and vibrant pattern papers that I had on my desk, and don’t be surprised if you see them a few more times from me. 

I love the adorable hippos from the Hippo Hooray set and I wanted to make a slimline scene. I stamped two facing hippies and a few little extras like the adorable bird and some greenery, using gray ink. I also stamped a love letter and hearts from the You Goat Mail stamp set. I colored everything with copic markers and used my Scan n Cut, to cut everything out. 

I created multiple slimline layers using my pattern papers and colored cardstock. Next, I used a double stitched heart die, from Trinity Stamps frame and fold die set, to remove a center window from the pink floral paper. I added some acetate to create a window and framed out the back of the panel with fun foam. I added some valentine colored sequins before adhering it to the scalloped aqua paper. 

Once assembled, I used another Trinity Stamps word die, to cut “sending” from a scrap of red card. I centered that over the heart window, and stamped “hugs and kisses” from Everyday Sentiments. Once that was comp,eye I added all of my colored images to each side of the shaker portion. I really am smitten with the results and how the soft gray ink looks with all the bright pink.
