Starring Stencils

Hello Crafters, Ali here and thank for visiting the blog! Stencils such as the Circular Harlequin Stencil are so diverse, they can create a fabulous background or they can be the star of your card! I especially love stencils which radiate from a center point like this one - they can lead the eye to a focal image or sentiment as I have done in today's card. I've used contrasts in this card - subtle Oxide shades and shimmery Nuvo paste to make the stencil shine and they are paired with a black card base and white sentiments on black card for a dramatic contrast.
To begin, I softly blended Distress Oxide Inks Wilted Violet and Peacock Feathers onto white card. I used a stitched Rectangle Die to cut out a front card panel from this shaded piece. I used Nuvo Gimmer Paste with the Circular Harlequin Stencil and put this aside to let it fully dry. The shimmer is hard to capture in photos, but its such a beautiful match with the harlequin pattern!
I stamped out the sentiments from the Decaf Background Set and white embossed them on black card strips. Once the glimmer paste was dry, I attached the sentiments and adhered to a black card base. Such a simple card but one that hero's the stencil with pattern and texture!
Thanks for joining us and see you again soon!
