Whomp, There It Is | Stenciled Moonlit Scene

Hi, crafty friends! Lauren Taylor Made here, and I’m so excited to share my latest card project on the Miss Ink Stamps blog! Today, I’m diving into the Magic Collection to create a fun, storybook-inspired card featuring a moody night sky and a magical forest scene. If you’re a fan of enchanted castles, midnight adventures, and flying cars, this one’s for you! I used the Siriusly Stamp Set, EIEIO Frame Die Set, and the Night Sky Stencil Set to bring this whimsical, spellbound moment to life.

To start, I stenciled the large, glowing moon using Distress Oxides in Lost Shadow and Weathered Wood for soft, mystical tones. I masked the moon and blended a deep night sky using Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot, adding water splatter and shimmering white gold watercolor to create a twinkling star-filled sky. The moon stands boldly on the background—perfect for those who travel by broomstick or enchanted creatures that roam the grounds at night. I added a grassy border using black cardstock to ground the scene and give it the look of a secret path through the dark forest.

The tree and flying car from the Siriusly Stamp Set were stamped in alcohol-marker-friendly ink and colored with Ohuhu markers. I gave the tree a shadowy, weathered look as though it’s been standing in that forbidden forest for centuries. The flying car is painted in soft, cool blues—an unmistakable nod to a certain mischievous escape vehicle. To bring out all the details, I re-stamped my images with Twilight VersaFine Clair ink, which really sharpened the lines. The heat-embossed sentiment “Whomp, there it is” in white on black cardstock adds a fun, cheeky twist to this magical misadventure.

This card was such a blast to make, and I hope it sparks your creativity!
